Fractional Flow Reserve and Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography

چکیده
Background: Invasive Fractional Flow Reserve Obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) produces symptoms and increases the risk of adverse cardiac outcomes. However, determining whether a particular coronary stenosis is responsible for causing myocardial ischemia can be challenging, even with invasive coronary angiography (ICA). To help guide decisions in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, Pijls et al and De Bruyne et al introduced the concept of myocardial fractional flow reserve (FFR) more than 20 years ago. Review

Diagnosis of Ischemia-Causing Coronary Stenoses by Noninvasive Fractional Flow Reserve Computed From Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiograms
Methods Computation of FFR from CCTA data was performed on 159 vessels in 103 patients undergoing CCTA, invasive coronary angiography, and FFR. Independent core laboratories determined FFRCT and CAD stenosis severity by CCTA. Ischemia was defined by an FFRCT and FFR 0.80, and anatomically obstructive CAD was defined as a CCTA with stenosis 50%. Diagnostic performance of FFRCT and CCTA stenosis ...

Invasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) is the gold standard for the determination of physiologic stenosis severity and the need for revascularization. FFR computed from standard acquired coronary computed tomographic angiography datasets (FFRCT) is an emerging technology which allows calculation of FFR using resting image data from coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA). However, the ...
متن کاملComparison of non-invasive multi-slice computed tomography coronary angiography versus invasive coronary angiography and fractional flow reserve for the evaluation of men with known coronary artery disease.
Multislice computed tomographic coronary angiography (MSCT) can accurately detect the presence of atherosclerosis noninvasively. However, a discrepancy has been observed between MSCT and noninvasive functional imaging. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the correlation between MSCT and invasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) in men with known coronary artery disease. Thirty-three p...

Based on review of available data, the Company may consider the use of noninvasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) following a positive coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) to guide decisions about the use of invasive coronary angiography (ICA) in patients with stable chest pain at intermediate risk of coronary artery disease (CAD i.e., suspected or presumed stable ischemic heart disea...
متن کاملNoninvasive Fractional Flow Reserve Derived From Coronary CT Angiography: Clinical Data and Scientific Principles.
Fractional flow reserve derived from coronary computed tomography angiography enables noninvasive assessment of the hemodynamic significance of coronary artery lesions and coupling of the anatomic severity of a coronary stenosis with its physiological effects. Since its initial demonstration of feasibility of use in humans in 2011, a significant body of clinical evidence has developed to evalua...
